There's little movement in public voting for Top 20 Most Popular Artistes, though some big names remain outside. Stay tuned
Seven days have elapsed since xinmsn first announced the current results of telepoll voting for your Star Awards' Top 20 Most Popular Male and Female Artistes. Though generally similar to last week's turnout, latest statistics are proving to be significant for both those who moved and those still static.
Headlining the news would be Chen Han Wei's continued omission from the Top 10. Without doubt, Hanwei is one of local TV's most-loved actors. The defending Best Actor is again in the running for the highest accolade thanks to his eye-catching role in Daddy at Home. His absence from the Top 10 list is baffling since he can currently be seen on Ch 8 as the personable Wufu in The Best Things In Life.
Another leading man who was left out in the cold last week, Tay Ping Hui, has expectedly returned to where he should rightly be. Known for his screen presence, the actor's new position boots another skilled character actor, Zhu Hou Ren, off this week's listings.
On the female artistes' end, a veteran drops out to be replaced by another.
With well-known stars like Michelle Chia, Hong Hui Fang, Kym Ng and one of last year's Top 10, Quan Yi Fong, propping up the rest, the new entrant in Xiang Yun's place is Jin Yin Ji, the animated actress who has livened up our TV sets for more than 20 years. Yin Ji is most recently seen in a series of dengue awareness interstitials by the National Environment Agency.
Hanging on to their places as new winners this year include Dai Yang Tian, Dasmond Koh, Dennis Chew, Joshua Ang, Zhang Yaodong, Ann Kok and Belinda Lee.
Actor-host Pornsak, a winner last year who recently fronted Channel 8's Lunar New Year telemovies, remains outside the award roll.

President Message
On this very special day of this wonderful fanclub aka The NUTZ, I would like to express gratitude towards every single one of you. Big thank you to those who had walked through this one year with me, I’m really grateful to all of you. I’ve started with nothing, only me and myself. But now, I got you all to support Joshua with me, every event that we attended together is filled with fun and laughter!
I really enjoy every moment we spent together. From the very first meeting where everyone was shy and kept quiet till now, everyone laugh, joke and talked about Joshua. We did boards together during his first event to let him know that we are there for him. I still remember we cut the paper in MacDonald in Ngee Ann city. When he came out, we screamed like nobody business. I still remember the emcee said that we were loud! We took photos with him and went for food after that! That day was memorable!
Remember this year, we celebrated his birthday? We went for dinner together with him at Marina Square Pasta De Waraku. We had a great time with him didn’t we? We took photos with him, we ate dinner with him, we talked to him. I still remember Jacqueline asked me the next day if she really sat beside Joshua. I laughed when she ask me that question.
We went through a lot together with a common goal which is to support Joshua and show him how much we love him. I’m sure we did it and he felt it.
Not forgetting the most recent event, Star awards 2010! I’m sure you girls enjoy yourselves right? From the way you all screamed, I know how much you girls had enjoyed yourself. Even though we did not managed to help Joshua to make it to Top 10 this year, but I know all of you had tried your best. We feel sad but we know we did our best didn’t we? And I’m sure Joshua knows it too!
Throughout this one year, we grew up together, from strangers, we became friends. And somehow, we are like a family! A family that works together towards a common goal and do things together, we are one.
Also, I would like to thank those that came in later, thanks for your support towards Joshua! I’m sure you girls were happy to see Joshua just like all of us! Please continue supporting him no matter what!
And lastly, I would really like to thank Joshua for giving me this chance to set up this fanclub for him! Thank you Joshua! If you did not give your consent to this, I’ll never have the chance to meet so many wonderful people and get to attend all your events with them. Thank you for giving me this chance to do all these for you, to irritate you for the past one year and to endure all our screaming! You never fail to thank us whenever we were there to support you. But in actual fact, we should be the one thanking you, without you, all these would not have happen. We would not have so much fun. I would really like to take this chance to thank you! And not to forget, we’ll always be here for you! We will always support you and love you! Thank you for everything!
