The current batch of artistes who have entered the Top 20 ranks of the Star Awards Most Popular Male and Female Artistes has revealed shocking and even head-scratching results. Stay tuned
 This just in: Chen Hanwei and Tay Ping Hui are left out in the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes, while Ann Kok and Belinda Lee are the newest to join the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes. It's topsy-turvy in the male zone, for now at least. As much as people want to know who's in, sometimes it's the absence of so-and-so which creates the bigger impact. The first question, upon seeing the list, is where is Chen Hanwei? Could it be that all that 'uncle' makeover he did with the poodle perm and pot belly in Daddy At Home didn't resonate as much with the audience unlike his AIDS patient turn in By My Side, which earned him a Best Actor at 2009 ceremony? Another shock is Baby Bonus' Tay Ping Hui who has also been pushed out of Top 10. Note to fans of both actors: best train their fingers for some furious voting if they want to keep them in the running.
Now with Christopher Lee and Mark Lee promoted to All-Time Favourite Artistes, 'disqualifying' them from competing in the Top 10, that evidently frees up room for new faces, and it seems that age is no factor involved in the voting. Veteran actor Zhu Hou Ren has joined the ranks, as well as newbie Joshua Ang, who just turned 21, and Dai Yang Tian, 25. DJ and host Dennis 'Auntie Lucy' Chew is hardly a surprise newcomer to the poll, given the massive popularity of his drag alter ego. Likewise, last year's winners Qi Yuwu, Elvin Ng, Bryan Wong and Zheng Geping are also present, but Pornsak, who won his first Top 10 in 2009, is left trailing behind. Instead, this could be the year for previously-nominated Zhang Yao Dong, thanks to his role in ongoing series Your Hand In Mine, and a comeback for ex-933 DJ-turned-host Dasmond Koh, who did not received a nomination in 2009.
It's a little less shocking on the female front. Last year's Top 10 including Vivian Lai, Yvonne Lim and Xiang Yun have reappeared on the listing. The same goes for regular fixtures i.e. the (remaining) Princesses Felicia Chin, Jeanette Aw, Rui En, Joanne Peh, are all present. News of her quitting MediaCorp hasn't dampened another Princess, Jesseca Liu's popularity, who's still in the running. While there are less new entrants for the estrogen pack, this cohort certainly deserves a spot. Hard work with several dramas since the past year starting with the hit Housewives' Holiday and a MILF image have helped Ann Kok secure a place in the Top 10 ranks. While Belinda Lee, who took home the Best Host (Info-Ed Show) at the Star Awards last year, is also a new face in the Top 10, which most likely is due to her plenty of screen time in ongoing drama Your Hand In Mine.
Fans of the respective artistes, you know who you are and what you must do.

President Message
On this very special day of this wonderful fanclub aka The NUTZ, I would like to express gratitude towards every single one of you. Big thank you to those who had walked through this one year with me, I’m really grateful to all of you. I’ve started with nothing, only me and myself. But now, I got you all to support Joshua with me, every event that we attended together is filled with fun and laughter!
I really enjoy every moment we spent together. From the very first meeting where everyone was shy and kept quiet till now, everyone laugh, joke and talked about Joshua. We did boards together during his first event to let him know that we are there for him. I still remember we cut the paper in MacDonald in Ngee Ann city. When he came out, we screamed like nobody business. I still remember the emcee said that we were loud! We took photos with him and went for food after that! That day was memorable!
Remember this year, we celebrated his birthday? We went for dinner together with him at Marina Square Pasta De Waraku. We had a great time with him didn’t we? We took photos with him, we ate dinner with him, we talked to him. I still remember Jacqueline asked me the next day if she really sat beside Joshua. I laughed when she ask me that question.
We went through a lot together with a common goal which is to support Joshua and show him how much we love him. I’m sure we did it and he felt it.
Not forgetting the most recent event, Star awards 2010! I’m sure you girls enjoy yourselves right? From the way you all screamed, I know how much you girls had enjoyed yourself. Even though we did not managed to help Joshua to make it to Top 10 this year, but I know all of you had tried your best. We feel sad but we know we did our best didn’t we? And I’m sure Joshua knows it too!
Throughout this one year, we grew up together, from strangers, we became friends. And somehow, we are like a family! A family that works together towards a common goal and do things together, we are one.
Also, I would like to thank those that came in later, thanks for your support towards Joshua! I’m sure you girls were happy to see Joshua just like all of us! Please continue supporting him no matter what!
And lastly, I would really like to thank Joshua for giving me this chance to set up this fanclub for him! Thank you Joshua! If you did not give your consent to this, I’ll never have the chance to meet so many wonderful people and get to attend all your events with them. Thank you for giving me this chance to do all these for you, to irritate you for the past one year and to endure all our screaming! You never fail to thank us whenever we were there to support you. But in actual fact, we should be the one thanking you, without you, all these would not have happen. We would not have so much fun. I would really like to take this chance to thank you! And not to forget, we’ll always be here for you! We will always support you and love you! Thank you for everything!
