First 5 Episodes of 最火搭档 Unriddle!

I just watched 5 epsiodes of ‘最火搭档 Unriddle’…and this time, I didn’t even press the fast forward button! Yes, it is that good. How good?

It is very pacy…well crafted story-telling style. I like how each episode begins with the event already taken place but quickly drawing us back into the hours or days just before the event…
陈莉萍 Chen Li Ping is marvellous. There’s one scene when there was no dialogue at all and she was hugging the belongings of her father…that brought tears out of me… This is going to be her most lovable character after her Holland V’s classic role to date! Best Actress nomination again…high chance of a sure-get-in position in the Top 5.
瑞恩 Rui En will surprise many in this role…the Executive Producer commented that Rui En reminded him of the young 邓萃雯 and that is a big compliment. You will be impressed by Rui En who played this character well in the grey area. She is also very blessed to be picked in dramas surrounded by some of the best artistes and that also bought out her best…

郑斌辉 Tay Ping Hui may stand a very big chance to grab that Best Actor trophy from 陈汉玮 Chen Han Wei (acted brilliantly in 五福到 and 我在你左右) for his role in Unriddle. It will be a good fight this time round. You can feel the intensity – his pain, guilt and anger and that he did not even need to express through any exaggerated facial expressions or body language. Just pure 眼神… Though he only appeared in the first 4 episodes (another 3 more towards the finale)…he will leave a very deep impression…
The supporting characters are equally fantastic. 陈邦鋆 Andie Chen has certainly proven that he is on the right track to position himself as a 性格派艺人 since we last saw him in ‘The Little Nyonya’. Wang Yu Qing is a complete different person from his 老飞鱼 role in ‘泳闯琴关 No Limits’. Li Wen Hai, Zheng Ge Ping, Brandon Wong, Joshua Ang, Zhang Wei and Zhou Ying also shine in their small roles. Even those who acted as pimps and thugs, they come alive in their roles… Oh well…I only saw the first 5 episodes and there are many more cameo appearances by other stars to come…

Following the likes of Jesseca Liu, Felicia Chin and Nat Ho, MediaCorp rising star Joshua Ang will be leaving showbiz as well!

The drama Unriddle will be Joshua's swansong as he will not be extending contract with MediaCorp when it expires at the end of July.
Over an exclusive telephone interview, Joshua talked about the reasons for leaving and his future plans with xinmsn.

The 21-year-old revealed that he actually has a recycling business outside of his acting stint.

"I chose not to extend the contract (with MediaCorp) to concentrate on my recycling business, which is a venture I went in with my friend.
"It's not that I'm unhappy with the company; neither did the company treat me badly. It's just that since I'm still young, I want to try new things."

10 years ago, audience was introduced to a young new actor named Joshua Ang in Jack Neo's I Not Stupid. After working in Jack's JTeam for a few years, Joshua switched to become a full time MediaCorp actor two years ago.

His performance in these two years has been nothing short of impressive.
Besides nomination for Star Award's Top Ten Most Popular Male Artiste earlier this year, his turn as Jeanette Aw's slow-witted brother in New Beginnings received positive reviews too.
With his career moving along smoothly, did Joshua choose to quit because the company appeared to be putting their focus on Dai Yang Tian and Elvin Ng?
"No no of course not! We play different roles; I take on younger roles, the parts we play differ too."
"I don't have Dai Yang Tian and Elvin Ng's looks and height, how can I measure up? I only have my confidence, which is what I depend on to do my job well."
Joshua's mother passed away last year due to a heart attack. The actor revealed that this sudden change of circumstances caused him to make up his mind about what to do if he leaves showbiz.
"It's impossible for me to further my studies overseas now. My younger brother is going to be enlisted in army soon and I need to take care of him."
He added that from now on, he will be concentrating on running his business and taking care of his brother and father.
When asked if there might be a chance that he might return to the screen, Joshua said that he will remain open to such opportunities if there is a suitable script and provided his business will not be affected by filming

Joshua Ang leaves MediaCorp to run recycling business

SINGAPORE: Singapore actor Joshua Ang will not be renewing his contract with MediaCorp when it expires end July in order to focus on his recycling business, reported xinmsn.com.

"I did not renew my contract because I hope to put my heart into a recycling business I started with a friend of mine," said Ang.
"It is not because I am unhappy with the company, or because the firm had treated me poorly. It is just that I am still young so I want to try new things."
The 21-year-old actor declined to give further details about his two-month-old start-up, claiming that the information was a trade secret, but pointed out that his departure would also give him more time to take care of his father and soon-to-be-enlisted younger brother.

Ang made his acting debut in Jack Neo's 2002 film "I Not Stupid" at the tender age of eleven.

He joined MediaCorp after his National Service in 2008 and garnered praise for his performance in Channel 8 dramas "Table of Glory" and "New Beginnings". The rising star was named one of the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes in the 2010 Star Awards.
Cop drama "Unriddle", which debuts August 4, will be Ang's last project, though he said he would not rule out returning to the screen, if a good script turns up and the filming does not affect his running of his business.

新传媒小帅哥洪赐健（Joshua Ang）本月底月满公司后，将告别娱乐圈，全心打理创办的环保绿化生意！
早前在刘芷绚、陈靓瑄和鹤天赐约满离开新传媒的同时，也传出加入新传媒小帅哥洪赐健同样萌生去意，但之后又有报道指出，他决定续约1年。
xinmsn今天独家电访了洪赐健了解近况，他透露，与公司的合约本月底到期，下月播出的新剧《最火搭档》将是他的告别作。
刚结束回营受训的他告诉记者："我没有续约，因为希望用心打理我和朋友合作的recycling business（环保绿化生意）。"
说到刚在两个月前创办的生意，基于商业秘密，他不愿进一步透露详情。

但，洪赐健强调："我不是对公司不满，也不是公司对我不好，只是我还年轻，希望尝试新的事物。"

《最火搭档》将是洪赐健的告别作。

自认没有戴阳天和黄俊雄的外形
现年21岁的洪赐健，虽然年纪轻，但思想成熟，他坦言，当初加入演艺圈是为了想过好日子，现在有机会做生意，同样能够糊口，所以决定趁年轻闯一闯。

洪赐健外形俊俏，演技也不俗，今年的《红白喜事》尝试低智商的角色，就赢得不少口碑。去年由他挂帅的《乒乓圆》，新传媒还也以"新阿哥"来形容他和戴阳天。
而且，他还在今年的《红星大奖》入围"十大最受欢迎男艺人奖"。
选择放弃刚起飞的演艺事业，他笑说："你真的觉得我会是'新阿哥'吗？哈哈！"
他直言："我没有戴阳天和黄俊雄的样貌、也没有他们的高度，怎么比？我有的只是自信，所以才能把工作做好。"
记者问洪赐健，是不是因为有感公司只力捧戴阳天和黄俊雄，所以感到失望？
他回答："不是不是！我们根本属于不同戏路，我演的大部分是年轻的角色，大家能够胜任的角色不同。"

原想出国深造因妈妈离世改变主意
10多年前，当年只有11岁的洪赐健凭电影《小孩不笨》一鸣惊人后，加入梁家班。两年前，他在服役后加入新传媒当全职艺人。
洪赐健坦承在决定退出娱乐圈时，曾考虑留下，或出国深造，其实他一度渴望到纽西兰念大学。可，母亲去年突然过世，令他深受打击，也扛下了照顾家人的重担。
他对记者说："现在出国念书是不可能了，我弟弟就快去服役了，他年纪还轻，须要我照顾。"
目前感情生活仍空白的他表示，接下来的日子，将专心经营他的生意，还有照顾好爸爸和弟弟。至于日后会否参演电视剧或电影，他说，只要剧本好，并在不影响生意的情况下，他不排除这个可能性。

The NUTZ 1st Year Anniversary and Surprise Visit

I would like to thank those who made it the chalet and also to the surprise visit! A very big thank you to all! Without all of you, everything would not happen! I'm sure everyone was happy to be able to see Joshua there with us, barbequeing with us, talked, joked and took lots of photos with us!

Joshua came around 5 and immediately he volunteered to help us with the fire as it was our 1st time trying to start fire. Soon after, he started barberqueing and we helped along. We sat there and ate with him, he spent time talking to us and took photos till around 7 and he joined us watching "Your Hand In Mine" and eating cake at the same time.

At around 7.45pm, we started giving out the presents that we had made and bought for him. We sincerely hope that he likes all the presents. After presenting all the gifts to him, we showed him a slide show that we had done for him.

He stayed on and continue chatting with everyone till around 1030pm and he left as there's work the very next day!

We enjoyed ourselves to the fullest and we would like to thank Joshua for making time for us and celebrating our 1st year anniversary with us! Very thank you Joshua! You're the best! =)

And without him knowing, we surprised visit him the next day and I guess he was surprised to see us. We waited for him to arrive and took photos with him before the crews arrived. We stayed a distance away so as not to disrupt him. After about two hours later, Joshua finished the his scenes and we send him off before going off.

All of us had a great time for the 2 days and without everyone's help and also Joshua, we will never be able to do everything so successfully! Thus, I would like to extend my thank to everyone again!

新旧艺人纷纷出走，今年或有超过10艺人离开！

新传媒今年不少艺人纷纷离巢，更有不少艺人也蠢蠢欲动，有意出走。7公众当中的谢宛谕、刘芷绚、姚懿珊确定离开之后，另一公主陈靓瑄也在刚过的《红星大奖》中透露自己未来动向，暗示自己可能会下山念书去。小生鹤天赐也在昨天证实，自己即将在6月约满后离开，弃影从商。

另外，资深艺人彭耀顺将在4月底约满后离开自组戏剧团，王建復则会回台湾家乡发展另辟新径。其他艺人如新晋艺人蔡佩璇、主持人林翠芳也因减薪及未来发展不佳等合约问题，考虑离开新传媒。新晋小生洪赐健今年9月约满，但问起未来动向却感觉意兴栏跚，甚至不排除可能往兴趣的音乐道路发展。

资深艺人周初明在今年10月底约满，去向未明。

确定离开新传媒的三位‘公主’则分别有谢宛谕、刘芷绚以及姚懿珊。她们分别为了不同的理由，先后离开了新传媒。

Both Pornsak and Dasmond each had a relatively quiet 2009, appearing in a mere handful of variety programmes. Together With Yaodong's flat performance, in the ongoing Your Hand In Mine, we reckon that their winning chances are few and far between with such intense and strong competitors.

The underdogs: Chen Hanwei, Terence Cao, Zheng Geping

They may not be your run-off-the-mill prince charming, but each of these artistes are oddly charismatic in their own ways.

There's little movement in public voting for Top 20 Most Popular Artistes, though some big names remain outside. Stay tuned

Seven days have elapsed since xinmsn first announced the current results of telepoll voting for your Star Awards' Top 20 Most Popular Male and Female Artistes. Though generally similar to last week's turnout, latest statistics are proving to be significant for both those who moved and those still static.
Headlining the news would be Chen Han Wei's continued omission from the Top 10. Without doubt, Hanwei is one of local TV's most-loved actors. The defending Best Actor is again in the running for the highest accolade thanks to his eye-catching role in Daddy at Home. His absence from the Top 10 list is baffling since he can currently be seen on Ch 8 as the personable Wufu in The Best Things In Life.

Another leading man who was left out in the cold last week, Tay Ping Hui, has expectedly returned to where he should rightly be. Known for his screen presence, the actor's new position boots another skilled character actor, Zhu Hou Ren, off this week's listings.

On the female artistes' end, a veteran drops out to be replaced by another.

With well-known stars like Michelle Chia, Hong Hui Fang, Kym Ng and one of last year's Top 10, Quan Yi Fong, propping up the rest, the new entrant in Xiang Yun's place is Jin Yin Ji, the animated actress who has livened up our TV sets for more than 20 years. Yin Ji is most recently seen in a series of dengue awareness interstitials by the National Environment Agency.

Hanging on to their places as new winners this year include Dai Yang Tian, Dasmond Koh, Dennis Chew, Joshua Ang, Zhang Yaodong, Ann Kok and Belinda Lee.

电话投选从3月18日开始至今，战况激烈，入围名单新脸孔戴阳天、洪赐健皆入围，阿哥郑斌辉、陈汉玮却意外跌出榜外！

周崇庆凭着Aunty Lucy爆红，今年走势继续火热，顺利暂进十大。重返十大的许振荣，也暂时入榜。
女艺人方面，郭舒贤这几年越战越勇，除了频频曝光，演技也受到肯定，成功攻进观众心里，暂时领先。首次入围的李心钰，渐渐熬出头，同样受到观众支持。

The current batch of artistes who have entered the Top 20 ranks of the Star Awards Most Popular Male and Female Artistes has revealed shocking and even head-scratching results. Stay tuned

This just in: Chen Hanwei and Tay Ping Hui are left out in the Top 10 Most Popular Male Artistes, while Ann Kok and Belinda Lee are the newest to join the Top 10 Most Popular Female Artistes. Will the statistics change as the Star Awards ceremony on Apr 25 draws nearer? Read on and watch this space

It's topsy-turvy in the male zone, for now at least. As much as people want to know who's in, sometimes it's the absence of so-and-so which creates the bigger impact. The first question, upon seeing the list, is where is Chen Hanwei? Could it be that all that 'uncle' makeover he did with the poodle perm and pot belly in Daddy At Home didn't resonate as much with the audience unlike his AIDS patient turn in By My Side, which earned him a Best Actor at 2009 ceremony? Another shock is Baby Bonus' Tay Ping Hui who has also been pushed out of Top 10. Note to fans of both actors: best train their fingers for some furious voting if they want to keep them in the running.

Now with Christopher Lee and Mark Lee promoted to All-Time Favourite Artistes, 'disqualifying' them from competing in the Top 10, that evidently frees up room for new faces, and it seems that age is no factor involved in the voting. Veteran actor Zhu Hou Ren has joined the ranks, as well as newbie Joshua Ang, who just turned 21, and Dai Yang Tian, 25. DJ and host Dennis 'Auntie Lucy' Chew is hardly a surprise newcomer to the poll, given the massive popularity of his drag alter ego. Likewise, last year's winners Qi Yuwu, Elvin Ng, Bryan Wong and Zheng Geping are also present, but Pornsak, who won his first Top 10 in 2009, is left trailing behind. Instead, this could be the year for previously-nominated Zhang Yao Dong, thanks to his role in ongoing series Your Hand In Mine, and a comeback for ex-933 DJ-turned-host Dasmond Koh, who did not received a nomination in 2009.

It's a little less shocking on the female front. Last year's Top 10 including Vivian Lai, Yvonne Lim and Xiang Yun have reappeared on the listing. The same goes for regular fixtures i.e. the (remaining) Princesses Felicia Chin, Jeanette Aw, Rui En, Joanne Peh, are all present. News of her quitting MediaCorp hasn't dampened another Princess, Jesseca Liu's popularity, who's still in the running. While there are less new entrants for the estrogen pack, this cohort certainly deserves a spot. Hard work with several dramas since the past year starting with the hit Housewives' Holiday and a MILF image have helped Ann Kok secure a place in the Top 10 ranks. While Belinda Lee, who took home the Best Host (Info-Ed Show) at the Star Awards last year, is also a new face in the Top 10, which most likely is due to her plenty of screen time in ongoing drama Your Hand In Mine.

A New Batch of Stars After Dai Yang Tian 戴阳天后即将报道的新生军！

2 years ago, the Talent Scout Team signed on 戴阳天 Dai Yang Tian from Shanghai…you will meet a new generation of stars about to land on our shores soon…

The same Talent Scout Team just completed their ’Asian Tour’ and found quite a couple of male and female stars from Taiwan and Greater China. According to sources, there’s a 气质美女, a handsome cute fellow and a character hunk from Taiwan alone.

You have already met Malaysian Tracy Lee 李美玲 who moved to Singapore. Tracy is in the current 9pm drama ‘The Best Things In Life 五福到’ and will be in ‘Splashes & Strings 游梦琴真’ with Felicia Chin, DYT and Elvin Ng next. Kola Zhou Ying 周颖 (the talented actress last seen in ’Together 当我们同在一起’) will also be reporting at the end of this month.
You will soon find them taking up roles with your current favorite stars in many upcoming new dramas. Some of the especially witty ones will also be taking up hosting jobs (Mandarin language is not an issue with stars from Taiwan and China). Kola Zhou Ying 周颖 already filmed her 1st hosting gig for Channel 8’s new travelodge programme ‘Lodge With Me 我行我宿’.
Looks like 洪赐健 Joshua Ang is gonna have a whole lot of contenders to deal with when the next Star Awards Best Newcomer comes along (he was the only newcomer of 2009)…plus the new ones from the 10th instalment of Star Search 2010 taking place soon…

Hey NUTZ!! Guess what??? Yupyup! Joshua will be appearing at the countdown that will be at Vivo City!!! Isnt that GREAT? Better still... We are able to get tickets to go in!! Isnt that SOOOOOO nice? Finally we get to see Joshua again after so long right?? I'm sure everyone miss him alot!

Hey Nutz... I'm here with more informations for you guys... I had check the pricing of the FC Tee already... It is about 17 bucks... And also to inform all of you that there will be a card for everyone to identify that you are the FC member... This is because as time goes by, when we have more members, we would not be able to remember everyone... So this is very important...

And we will be having a meeting during September... I will let Jasmine or June to inform all of you about the dates soon... And also, I need to collect 25 bucks from everyone for the shirt and the card... The remaining money will go to the FC funds for Joshua's future events... I need all the money in by 1st Sept... Please all transfer to POSB SAVINGS ACC 199-10367-9... Once transfer please send mi a text message... If you do not have a bank, please let me know soon so that I can meet you to collect the money... If by 1st Sept and i still have not recieve any money from you... I will not include your share in making the Tee... Please give mi the money on time as ALL MEMBERS MUST have the FC Tee and the card...

And also, I cannot possibly be checking the mail everyday for new members... Thus every 15th and 30th is the day when I will check the mail... So if you have not join this fc and you wanna join... Please email b4 this date... Once we hit 30 members... Alot of things will be much easier...

Although she's not by your side as like how she was in the past.

As some of you may know by now, yes, Joshua's beloved mother has passed on. It's in the news. It will be a saddening phase for Joshua and for us. So please readers, pray for his mother and for him, to get over it. People do leave us sometime, and when it happens, all we can do is to keep good memories of the beloved.

So please people, pray for them. To Joshua's mother, thank you for nurturing and taking care of Joshua. We all love you. RIP.

I know that some of you are very shy and dare not speak up even though you might have something to say... But i hope in time to come...
